Air Fryer Frozen Hot Pockets – How To Cook Hot Pockets in the Air Fryer

Keep the cooked treats in an airtight container in the freezer until you’re ready to eat them! That way, the quality will be maintained better.

You can also store air-fried hot pockets in airtight Tupperware in the fridge for three to four days. While you can store them in this way, we wouldn’t recommend it. This may cause the crust to lose its crispiness and become soggy.

When you want to eat them, make sure to reheat the pastries completely, however! We would suggest trying to reheat them using the same method so that they’re as crispy as they were when you first cooked them.

How To Fry Hot Pockets In A Skillet

While it might be fashionable to fry various things from apples to zabaglione at state fairs, you can enjoy the same decadent crispiness at home and avoid paying entrance fees or having to dodge rodeo bulls. Just fry some Hot Pockets.

These sealed pizza-style sandwiches of crust pastry filled with cheese, meat, and veggies, are frozen fully cooked when you buy them from the frozen food aisles at your local grocery store or supermarket.

Defrosting these frozen food goodies first is the secret behind cooking them to piping hot, crispy perfection.

    Heres how to do it:

    • Step 1Put the frozen Hot Pockets into the refrigerator and thaw them until they are completely soft throughout. It all depends on how cold you set your fridge, but it takes me about one to two hours in my refrigerator back home.
    • Step 2Put enough oil into a skillet or deep-fryer to just cover the Pockets. About three inches should be fine. Any oil will do, but I find canola oil, peanut oil, and vegetable oil best. Warm the oil up to a temperature of 350°F. If you havent done a lot of deep-frying, you might like to use a candy thermometer to gauge the temperature.

    Hot Tip:

For extra crunchiness, coat your defrosted Hot Pockets in beer batter before frying.

    Warning:

Dont fry Hot Pockets while they are still frozen. Any ice crystals will make the hot oil spatter, and you could get scalded.

Not only that, but the outers of the Pockets will get burned before the filling is properly cooked.

    Cooking In A Toaster Oven

    Air Fryer Hot Pockets
    • Step 1Preheat the toaster over to a temperature of 350°F.
    • Step 2Take the Hot Pocket out of its packaging and place it on a toaster oven baking sheet. When cooking a Pocket in a toaster oven, it is unnecessary to put it in the crisper sleeve. The sleeve is only needed to crisp the Pocket when you use a microwave.
    • Step 3Cook the Hot Pocket in your toaster oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the pockets get crispy and golden brown.
    • Step 4After that, take it out from the toaster oven. The outer ought to be golden brown, and the filling beautiful and hot.
    • Step 5Leave the Pocket for five minutes minimum to let the red-hot filling cool a little. Put the Pocket into the crisping sleeve to prevent burning your fingers when you pick it up. Enjoy.

Tips On Cooking Frozen Hot Pockets In The Air Fryer

    • For best results, the Hot Pockets should go from the freezer to the Air Fryer. If you thaw them first, you will end up with mushy Hot Pockets.
    • Do not crowd the Air Fryer Basket. You want to place them on a single layer for best results, leaving space around them to perfect cook up.
    • There is no reason to spray these with cooking spray. They will perfectly crisp up without any oil.
    • Check your Hot Pockets In the Air Fryer frequently during the cooking process since every air fryer is slightly different. I have made these several times in the Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, Instant Pot Crisp Lid, Mealthy Lid, and different Air Fryer Basket and Oven Models. The recipe will remain the same, but the cooking time will vary slightly.
