Best For Making Whole Meals: Ninja Foodi 6
Although some air fryers promote the capability of cooking two different foods simultaneously, this can be complicated in practice. Different foods often require different temperatures, and one rack on top of another leads to mixed flavors or mushy food thats not supposed to be mushy. Ninjas DualZone technology addresses this issue.
This particular Foodi comes with two side-by-side baskets, and each one acts like any other air fryer, so you dont have to separate foods with racks or any other accessories. There are no compromises when it comes to the cooking process either. The DualZone technology means that each side can be set to different temperatures and different times. Its also designed to finish cooking different items at the same time, by shortening the cooking time at the beginning instead of letting the shorter-timed dish cool off at the end.
Each basket has a 4-quart capacity, which is slightly smaller than the average 6 quarts, but its ample enough to cook for a couple or even a family, depending on the meal. If you want to cook a larger amount of one item wings, for example you can just use both baskets for a total of 8 quarts.
But in general, this air fryer is designed to make it easy cook a main dish and a side like chicken thighs and broccoli, or ribs and fries at the same time.
What Shouldnt I Use An Air Fryer To Do
Although the air fryer is a great tool to speed up time spent in the kitchen, the food you make in it isnt going to taste the same as something youve deep-fried, experts told us. Free yourself of those confines and you wont be disappointed.
Linda Larsen, author of The Complete Air Fryer Cookbook, also noted that not every food can be cooked in the air fryer, pointing specifically to frozen stuffed chicken breasts. Foods like this, after being put in the air fryer, will look fully cooked and golden brown on the outside even if theyre still raw and potentially dangerous to eat. Both Larsen and Weinstein explicitly warned against cooking anything with a runny batter in the air fryer, too, since it can make a mess and require more painstaking clean-up.
Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer
If you arent worried about money or space and you find that youre regularly preparing meals for a bunch of people, the Breville Smart Oven Air is a great convection oven-style air fryer. I have a Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer that I absolutely love, Pitre said. It has 11 cooking functions, like toasting, broiling, baking, and of course air frying. Like most of our recommendations, it has a screen for the timer and temperature. The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer has a 4.7-star average rating from around 160 reviews at Best Buy and comes with a one-year warranty. Its important to note here that the Breville doesnt have any dishwasher-safe parts.

Iruntek Small Mini Air Fryer
If you are weighing up the two options above and cant decide whether to go for size or power draw , I have someone else to confuse you even more This air fryer sits somewhere in the middle. The only downside here is it is from an unheard brand iRuntek . Although, to be fair, at the time of writing, the user reviews on Amazon point to a well put together unit!
This air fryer would sit in a sweet spot for many van life enthusiasts. It has 1.3 quarts of space, so it can cook slightly more than the ultra compact Elite above. And you get this extra cooking space in an air fryer that only has a rating of 800 watts. This is impressive stuff for anyone that is not exactly power rich!
I also see that this air fryer has my favorite cleaning friendly design of a flat bottom with a grill pan that sits on top. And, for me at least, this is the best looking air fryer in my list so far. It has a simple yet sleek design that I really like!
So if you can forgive the random sounding brand iRuntek, you could find this is the air fryer for you. Although be aware that I couldnt find an official website for iRuntek and they have only said they follow the Amazon 30 day money-back guarantee. No word on further warranty, so you are taking a slight risk here. If the Amazon reviews werent so good, I would run a mile

Small Air Fryer Benefits
Somehow, weve made it this far without covering why you should get a small air fryer. First of all, if you are in a small kitchen and have limited counter space, a small size air fryer may be right for you.
When I remove the basket from my Okaysou air fryer, I could actually fit it inside my Ninja Foodi. Haha Hows that for a small footprint?
Second, since the air fryer is so small, it is lightweight and can be used as a portable air fryer. You may be able to take this air fryer while traveling. It could help you eat healthier with no oil, or perhaps just reheat your leftovers.
Third, small capacity air fryers tend to be inexpensive. Some of us dont want to drop $150-300 on a big air fryer. Luckily, we dont have to!
Fourth, air frying can help us conserve energy compared to using the oven. They also dont heat up the house like ovens do.
Finally, air fryers are easy to clean. Theres no scrubbing roasting pans and skillets with stuck-on food when you air fry.
Downsides Of Using An Air Fryer
Just because you are using an air fryer doesnt always mean the food you fix is healthy. Fried chicken with batter or French fries and onion rings are not going to be as healthy as marinated chicken breasts or seasoned vegetables.
Air fryers also take up room in your RV, and when in use, the appliance needs space around it to be safe. A smaller model might be beneficial for a couple.
Cooking capacity can also be limited. Some food items cannot be stacked on top of each other. The largest size, a 10-quart capacity, will cook for about six to eight people.
Some foods you will not be able to cook in an air fryer include wet battered food, whole chicken or roasts, cheese, leafy greens, popcorn, and others. Consult your instructions when you purchase your appliance for how to cook and what can be cooked in your air fryer.
Make easy, delicious meals in your RV with these air fryer tips.

Ensure The Rv Has Enough Power
Check the air fryer wattage to determine if your RV can meet the power requirements. Remember that RVs have limited power supply depending on the circuit. For example, a 30 amp circuit will give a maximum of around 3500 3600 watts. It might not be enough if you get a 2000-watt air fryer. You still need to leave enough power for other appliances in the RV.
What Are The Advantages Of Using An Air Fryer For Camping
The advantages of using an air fryer for camping include its ease of use and reducing the need for cooking oil.
They are convenient and portable, plus they help you cook in a healthier way.
Using an air fryer instead of a deep fryer lets you reduce calories and fat while still frying foods. That means that someone with a need for a heart-healthy diet doesnt have to give up eating fried foods.

What Can You Cook In An Air Fryer
There are tons of foods you can cook in your air fryer. Really, the list is endless. I mean, who doesnt like deep-fried foods?
An air fryer keeps it yummy without all the oil and mess to clean up. These appliances are really fast too, and the hot air convection cooking will get your chicken crispy and juicy.
Dont just limit your air fryer cooking to meats only. Vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, potatoes, zucchini, and more are great too.
You can also include breakfast, dessert, sides, main meals, and much more. Appetizers are also fast in the air fryer, including stuffed mushrooms, potato skins, and jalapeño poppers, all made in half the time of a conventional oven.

Here Are Two Air Fryers That We Have Used And Recommend:
Cosori Pro Smart Air Fryer 5.8 QT packs a punch for its size at only 12 x 14 x 12â. It draws up to 1800 watts but is very quick and easy to clean up. Thereâs just one dish to do after cooking with the Cosori. We love the square basket shape and can fit a good amount of food in here.
Cuisinart Convection Toaster Oven Air Fryer is a great combo appliance and could even replace your microwave, oven, toaster, and air fryer all in one. Itâs a bit bigger at 17 x 22 x 16â but it may be worth the counter space if youâre replacing multiple appliances with this one. It also draws up to 1800 watts, but comes up to temperature really quickly and cooks quite fast, thus saving on power consumption.
What Is An Air Fryer And How Does It Work
An air fryer is a small kitchen appliance that uses hot air to cook food quickly and evenly. It typically consists of a heating element and powerful fan, which circulate hot air around the food at high speeds to cook it quickly. Some models may also include additional features such as adjustable temperature controls or preset cooking programs for different types of foods.

Air Fryers: A New Must
An air fryer is a kitchen appliance that cooks by circulating hot air around the food using the convection mechanismessentially a downsized version of the convection oven. The hot air circulating around the food at high speed cooks the food while simultaneously producing a crispy layer.
This mechanism uses only a fraction of the oil required for regular frying, making it healthier. The name air fryer is a bit misleading as it doesnt actually fry but is really a smaller version of a convection oven.
When living in a small space, having gadgets that are multi-functional as well as space-saving are a priority. The air fryer has become especially popular among tiny house dwellers for the same reason the air fryer is perfect for an RV: its small enough to fit on a counter , and it can be used instead of an oven which is great for those hot days when you dont want to heat up your small living space just for cooking.
Should You Buy An Air Fryer Toaster Oven
All air fryer toaster ovens are basically convection ovens with fans that operate at a high speed to circulate hot air for browning and crisping.
They also have some big advantages over dedicated air fryers. The air fry basket tends to be shallower but wider, letting you cook more food at once. Its also easy to monitor cooking through the window and to pull out the basket to stir and flip over food.
However, few of these multifunction countertop ovens are the best at air frying. These are for people who prioritize toasting and versatility over air frying. To get good results, you may have to extend cooking times and be vigilant about tossing, flipping over, and rearranging.
Theyre also generally harder to clean. While most air fryers have easy to clean nonstick air fry baskets, the stainless steel baskets and aluminum drip pans seen here can take some soaking and scrubbing to get spotless.
When you cook something in a batterlike shrimp or onion ringsor toss in a little oil like homemade French fries, you get messy drips on the heating elements that will need to be cleaned off. Some newer models are finally starting to include nonstick interiors, which is a big plus.
Since youll be using either the oven rack or the air fry basket, be sure you have space to store the one youre not using, as well as the baking dish and any other accessories.

How Many Amps Does An Air Fryer Pull
While all air fryer advertising will tell you how much wattage the device will need, it never tells you how many amps the air fryer will pull when in use. The number of amps that an air fryer will pull will be dependent on a few factors.
The first is what type of battery system/power system you are running. In a household setting, you would have access to a 120 volt system, whereas, in a camper you are going to be on a 12 volt system or similar since caravans donât require nearly as much power to power all of the appliances.
Here is a breakdown of the most commonly used air fryer wattage levels and how many amps these pull based off of a 12 volt system
â 900 watts = 75 amps.
â 1000 watts = 83.3 amps.
â 1200 watts = 100 amps.
â 1500 watts = 125 amps.
â 1700 watts = 141.6 amps.
â 1800 watts = 150 amps.

What Are The Disadvantages Of Using An Air Fryer For Camping
Although a few disadvantages exist to using an air fryer for camping, theyre very few in number. You cannot cook liquid in them. They take about 30 minutes to cook most items, so they arent as instant as a microwave.
Also, you cant cook food that is overly moist in an air fryer. These include wet batter because it will not bake correctly and the batter will drip off thanks to the fan. You cant cook fresh greens because the leafy greens will probably get blown around and leave a big mess inside. Cooking cheese will cause the cheese to melt and get stuck to the air fryer which is a pain to clean up.
