Remember the first time you used an Instant Pot? Yeah, this sort of like that, but turned down a notch or two. The Instant Vortex has four pre-programmed settings to air fry, bake, roast and reheat similar to the Instant Pots seven settings. The caveat here is the Vortex only has eight buttons, four of which are those programs, plus Start, Cancel, Time and Temp. The dial in the center of the screen easily allows you to adjust the temperature in 5-degree intervals and the text is large and easy to read. Even if youre someone who hates reading manuals, we have a feeling youll be able to figure this one out.
Air Fryer Instant Pot Vortex Pork Chops
One of the first recipes I made after getting my Instant Pot Vortex Plus 7 in 1 air fryer oven was to make air fryer Instant Pot Vortex pork chops. Since the Vortex is new, specific Instant Pot Vortex recipes are harder to come by . So I adapted a regular buttermilk and breaded air fryer pork chops recipe into a recipe for the Instant Pot Vortex. The result was fabulous!
Note that you do not have to have a Vortex to make this recipe. It can be made in any air fryer. Just keep an eye on the time, as I have found that the Vortex seems to require a few more minutes than some of the basket style air fryers.

How Long To Air Fry Bacon
Regular bacon will need to cook for about 7-8 minutes in an air fryer at 390°F. Air Fryers can vary so make sure you check it early so it doesnt burn.
If you like bacon more crisp, cook it longer. If you prefer it softer, take it out early.
Thicker bacon will need about 2 minutes longer. If you are cooking pre-cooked bacon, it will need about 3 minutes as its quite thin and already cooked.

You can typically use foil as long as you leave space for air flow. The air fryer pushes hot air all around the food. If the air is blocked by foil, it cannot cook the food properly. So when you place your foil in the air fryer you do not want to cover up all the holes of the air fryer basket or air fryer tray.

Its very clear to see and implement time and temp separately. Some air fryer use the same buttons and you have to toggle back and forth between time and temp. Having them separate is helpful. The hot circulating air is very powerful too so youll get food crispy, quick.

Unfortunately, you cant place the drawer for the Instant Vortex Plus in the dishwasher. It is quite large though, so it wouldnt have fitted into my dishwasher anyway.
