Which Is Better: Ninja Foodi Vs The Instant Pot
The complicated answer to the Ninja Foodi vs. Instant Pot debate changes every time either brand launches a new iteration of its device. New releases happen much more often than you’d expect for the humble countertop cooker.
The blind spots each had a few years ago have mostly been covered at this point.
Both have LCD screens, multiple pressure settings, inserts that are dishwasher safe, and the rest of those expected specs. Which cooker you should get depends on the appliance features that you want to pay for and which one you think would look better on your counter, honestly.
Prices for the Foodi start at $169.99 and max out at a $279.99, with about four models in between. Prices for the Instant Pot start at $89 and max out at $249.99, with a few more models in between to ensure your perfect price point. The newest Instant Pot Pro Plus debuted at $169.99, comparing to the price of the oldest Ninja Foodi model that’s all but discontinued.

The Probe Thermometer Is Convenient And Works Well
The Smart Thermometer is a clever addition to the Foodi that makes perfectly cooked proteins an easy feat.
The Foodi model we tested comes with a built-in Smart Thermometer, which can be used to cook protein to an exact temperature. There are also associated automatic programs to cook protein according to desired doneness. Just insert the probe, decide between rare and well done , and the Foodi does the rest.
We tried it on the Fish setting at Medium for our salmon-quinoa-broccoli dish, and the resulting fish had a crispy brown exterior while the inside was tender and almost falling apart .
There are also thermometer settings for beef, lamb, pork, and chicken/turkey. Once the thermometer is inserted , choosing the protein type and preferred doneness on the screen takes just seconds. You set it, and the Foodi will tell you when it’s ready.
How Is It Different From An Instant Pot
The Foodi is similar to an Instant Pot in some waysthey look almost identical, to start but there are a few key differences.
First, the Instant Pot has 13 functions, while the Ninja Foodi has 14. The Instant Pot doesn’t have any baking or air frying modes, but it does have a rice cooker mode, which the Foodi doesn’t .

Personally, I also prefer the screen on the Ninja Foodie because it has less buttons than the Instant Pot does. And, the screen will only light up certain choices, so you’ll never be tempted to cross pick the wrong mode with the wrong function.
It’s also worth nothing that the Instant Pot is much cheaper than the Foodi, by a few hundred dollars. But with the added ability to air fry, I think the Foodi is well worth it for the right type of home cook.

The two big cooking sensations of the last few years have unquestionably been multi cookers Instant Pots and very similar, rival products made by brands other than Instant Pot and air fryers. A few products have combined the two quite successfully, but have required two lids a pressure cooker lid for Instant Pot duties and one with a heating element and fan in for air frying.

Id highly suggest you leave the skins on so they can hold the pieces together better and provide texture. Larger pieces are easier to hold and typically cheaper but use what you like.

Lets hear it for air crisp french fries. Im telling you, youll never go back to frozen again after you try these. What is really nice is you can season them as you wish, and even add a bit of heat to them just for fun too.
