How To Cook Rotisserie Chicken In The Instant Pot Vortex
Making an air fryer oven rotisserie chicken is pretty straightforward. For the Vortex, you will need your rotisserie spit and a seasoned chicken. For my recipe, I marinated the chicken for 24 hours in a Buttermilk brine. This uses the lactic acid in the milk to tenderize the chicken and then it caramelizes to a deep brown when cooked. Simply add Buttermilk with a Tablespoon of salt, a bit of oil, and come garlic powder added and marinate it in a plastic bag. You can turn the bag once in a while but it is OK if you do not. It still will come out fine.
After marinating, or otherwise seasoning, Give the bird a bit of salt and pepper to taste to prepare it for the rotisserie spit, or for your tray if not using a spit.
To get your air fryer rotisserie chicken onto the spit, I recommend attaching the fork prong to one end first and inserting the rod through the chicken. Push the prong into the chicken and then put the prong onto the other end. I found that lining up the hole in the prong with the spit took a bit of work. It wasnt terribly hard, but it needs to line up well to go in.
Some people have taken to pushing the chicken into the rotisserie basket. If your chicken will fit, that can be an easy way to cook it.
In the below photo, you can see how my chicken had its wings touch the bottom when rotating. My chicken was slightly too large and I should have cut off the wings. Do as I say, not as I do, lol!

Serving Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken
I served my Buttermilk marinated chicken with roasted Brussels sprouts. You can do those in the Vortex too! But not at the same time as the chicken. Recipe to come.

The smart guides are also helpful to make it less intimidating when cooking. Dont let the size food you, as its quite large compared to other smaller air-fryer-only devices. But if you have the kitchen counter top space, youll find that youll be using the features more than you think. The Time and Temp buttons are separate, which is nice. Its very clear to see and implement time and temp separately. Some air fryer use the same buttons and you have to toggle back and forth between time and temp. Having them separate is helpful. The hot circulating air is very powerful too so youll get food crispy, quick.

The Instant Vortex Plus is a beautiful piece of kitchen equipment thats worthy of a dedicated spot on your countertop. If youre already the proud owner of the Instant Pot, the two will also complement each other nicely.
