Now that you have read the 10 air fryer toaster oven reviews, how do you choose an air fryer that really suits you? Here are the aspects you need to check:
1. Ovens, microwave ovens, and pressure cookers, you can have it all! Its wise to choose a multifunctional appliance.
2. Capacity: 5.8 quarts is suitable for a family of 4 people. While 8.5 quarts is suitable for 6-8 people. If you want a larger capacity, the air fryer oven is more suitable for you.
3. Space-saving: It is necessary to check the size of the air fryer. Products with special design to save space are worth noting.
4. Easy to use and clean: This can save you a lot of time and troublesome.

Best Countertop Oven And Air Fryer In : Ninja Breville Kitchenaid And More
A proficient countertop toaster oven with capable air fry function is the best of both worlds, and a space-saver to boot.
Improvements to the good old-fashioned oven are never in short supply. Some innovations, like convection cooking, which debuted in 1945, are difficult to imagine living without. Others land softly with an air of frivolousness and very little impact
Smaller countertop ovens are not new, of course, and at this point neither are air fryers. What is new is a fusing of those two types of cookers into one hybrid convection oven with air fryer function, and a good one will do about as much as anything else you can buy for your kitchen. I’ve had one of these versatile hybrid ovens for about a year and find the uses for it many and the results rather delicious.

“But I already have a solo air fryer or was thinking of getting one.” Great! Air fryers are awesome and they’re pretty cheap, too. In fact, we have a list of the best air fryers to help you choose. But the solo units have limitations and those might make a hybrid oven a better option for you. I did the calculations for myself and decided on a hybrid.
I broiled. I baked. I judged. I ate. Here’s how the hybrid ovens performed and a few of my top picks.

Best Digital: Cosori Pro Air Fryer Cp158
Wide flat basket for great airflow
Presets for common foods work well
Compact footprint for its capacity
Sometimes takes two hands to insert/remove basket
Relatively new brand
With 11 presets, a beautiful LED screen for selecting your functions, and a reminder when its time to shake the cooking basket, this model couldnt be easier to use!
If you’re cooking for a large group, the 5.8-quart capacity makes this big enough for large meals and then some. It can fit a 5-6 pound chicken or plenty of wings, so its great for more than just after-school snacks. This model is also available in a 3.7-quart capacity.
The inner and outer baskets feature a nonstick coating, which our tester said made cleanup easy. Another great feature? This air fryer comes with a cookbook that features over 100 recipes so youll never run out of things to cook.
Capacity: 5.8 quarts | Power Rating: 1700 watts | Dimensions: 11.7 x 14.2 x 12.6 inches | Warranty: 1 year
“The cooking basket is wide enough to accommodate food in fewer layers for better airflow, and its easy to shake food if it needs to be rearranged during cooking.” Donna Currie, Product Tester
Gourmia 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer
All-round good choice
Reasons to buy
Reasons to avoid
We think the Gourmia 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer is one of the best air fryers out there. When it comes to crisping and browning foods while keeping them moist and tender, its a close runner-up to our top pick, the Cosori. Plus, it can also be used for broiling and roasting without leaving you with spatters and messy pans to clean up. The only test we found it struggled on was fresh French fries, which just werent up to scratch compared to others.
The electronic controls have preset cooking programs to give you an idea what temperature and time to use for foods that youre most likely to air fry. Once you set the Gourmia, it automatically goes into a preheat mode and then, halfway through the air frying process, alerts you with an onscreen prompt that its time to turn your food over. The basket goes in the dishwasher for easy cleanup. Our only gripe with the Gourmia is that its not a particularly attractive product, but were big believers that function is more important than design.

Tips And Tricks For Cooking In An Air Fryer
Use air fryer cookbooks. While its nice to have a recipe book included in your purchase, you dont need to depend on the manufacturer for one. There are many good cookbooks to help you get more bang for your buck with your fryers increased use. Go ahead and experiment, churn out chocolate chip cookies, blueberry muffins, grilled salmon, and more.
During use, give your air oven five inches of space on all sides. The device cooks food with mainly hot air and a bit of oil. Thats it. If it isnt well-ventilated, the quality of the end-product suffers. By all means, tuck it in a corner when in storage. But, when in use, rest it on a stable, heat-proof surface and give it five inches of space on all sides.
Preheat your air fryer. Use the manual as a guide for specific instructions. However, even when models and recipes dont mention warming the machine, the results often benefit from preheating. Most manufacturers suggest 10 to 15 minutes of preheating. This action gives you plenty of time to prep ingredients. Plus, preheating ensures your food crisps instead of steams.
Use the right amount of oil. Always refer to recipes and the manual for oil portion specifics. It can be hard to judge oil requirements for food, especially frozen ones. For most recipes, add only 1/2 teaspoon of oil per batch. When cooking frozen foods like chicken nuggets or mozzarella sticks, use a smaller amount or just a spitz of non-stick spray. To get crisp, golden finished products that arent soggy.
Kalorik Maxx Air Fryer
The almost 100-year-old Belgium company is well known for its excellent home cooking appliances. Besides the many accessories that come with this large air fryer oven, two things make this model stand out. The first is its grill grate and smokeless sear technology. You can char up delicious juicy steaks while air-frying fries at the same time. The other feature that makes this air fryer oven unique is its dual, side-opening doors. These doors give you clearer access to the bottom of the cooking chamber, which is excellent for cooking and cleaning.

What Type Of Air Fryer Do You Want
Large air fryers are available in the following two types:
Analog air fryer
Such models come with manual timers to let you set the time you want your food to cook for. They come with a basic dial that slowly rotates towards the 0 mark as the cooking time comes to an end.
We do not recommend these air fryers. They make cooking difficult by forcing you to guess rather than showing exactly how much time is left on the clock.
Digital air fryer
Almost all air fryers that you see in this review come with a digital timer. They have a digital touchscreen with an LED display and let you set time by pressing buttons on their control panel.
Such models also offer many features, including pre-programming cooking functions, keep warm, preheat, and shake reminders. They also show in visible numbers how much time is left.
Air Fried Chicken Wings Test
Chicken wings are almost universally loved and a very popular item to air fry. The goal for an air-fried wing is a crispy outside and skin with a juicy inside. To test each oven’s air fry ability, I cooked three frozen wings on air fry mode at 450 degrees F for 30 minutes, turning them every 10 minutes. I let each oven come to full preheat before putting the wings in and then photographed them immediately after pulling them out. I tasted them too, of course, when they became cool enough to eat.
Success here depends on high heat and good fan circulation of that hot air, which, in turn, means faster cooking. The faster an air fryer cooks and the more effective the super convection is, the faster the outside skin will crisp, making it less likely the chicken will be dry inside.
The Ninja Foodi oven won the great wing war by a feather, with the crispiest wings after 30 minutes. They were also perfectly juicy inside and had no real visible burning. The Cuisinart also nailed the wing test, but I actually had to pull them after about 25 minutes because they were fully done. They even had some burnt skin but not enough to bother me. The Breville and Crux also did well with good browning and crispy skin, while the KitchenAid finished sixth and the Calphalon seventh with not enough browning or crispiness for my taste.
Ninja’s air-fried wings were a thing of beauty.

Best Air Fryer Oven Combo: Breville Smart Oven Air Bov900bss
Breville has made a multipurpose titan thats hard to ignore: This combination oven-air fryer is 21.5 wide and 17.5 deep, and it can fit nine slices of bread in a single layer, or even an entire 13 pizza. Its the perfect air fryer for a big family or the home chef who loves to entertain. Although the massive 1-cubic-foot space makes it a bit slow to heat, the 1800W power capacity helps it warm up and maintain heat effectively. Brevilles own Element IQ technology and PID Temperature Control help distribute that heat and stabilize temperatures, depending on the mode you set and how much food is inside.
It has the most preset functions of all the air fryers weve seen a total of 13, including broiling, roasting and dehydrating. This product is an oven first, it’s a more than capable air fryer due to the six separate heaters controlled by Element IQ , plus what Breville calls a super convection fan. And thanks to its width, it makes the best use of the oven-style advantages: single-layer food distribution to avoid soggy fries trapped in the middle.
The Best Air Fryertoaster Oven Combo
As mentioned, this is an all-in-one air fryer and regular toaster oven, so if you’d like to make crispy sesame-coconut chicken tendersand cook a whole chicken in the same appliance, this one’s for you. The control panel has a variety of presets for specific foods like frozen pizza, bagels, and cookies, or you can choose cook modes like reheat, broil, bake, or roast. The air fry mode activates the super convection fan setting, which hits your sweet potato wedges with rapidly circulating air. The Breville is considerably roomy and front-loading, making it easy to cook large items. And the window means you can watch food as it cooks so you dont have to open the oven to check that dinner isnt burningletting precious heat out.
The downside of this one is that it takes up a lot of space. Because it gets so hot, you CANNOT stack cutting boards and cookbooks and drying dishes on top while youre using it or the fire department might come acalling. And because the heating element is exposed and sits below the included perforated basket , I often line the basket with parchment for foods that might drip, or place a pan below it to shield the heating rods on the floor of the unit from falling fat. Like other air fryers, its annoying to clean.

Best Air Fryer Toaster Ovens Of 2021
These top-tested combo ovens can pretty much do it all.
This article was updated in October 2021 to update winners and replace any sold out or discontinued picks, including our previous Best Value pick. We also added new-comers including the Ninja Foodie Smart XL Air Fry Oven, Power XL Air Fryer Grill, June Premium Oven and the Instant Pot Omni Plus Air Fryer Toaster Oven. Our picks are still based on most recent tests led by Nicole Papantoniou, deputy director of the Good Housekeeping Institute Kitchen Appliances Lab.
Air fryer toaster ovens are truly multifunctional, combining the best of air fryers and toaster ovens most can typically bake, roast and broil in addition to air frying to make food super crispy with less oil than traditional frying methods. These do-it-all appliances offer a large cooking space on one or more racks for air frying in a single layer , and some even come with rotisserie attachment for whole chickens and other roasts. That means fresh-made chicken wings in about 20 minutes and crispy, air-fried doughnuts in less than ten.
Here are the best air fryer toaster ovens you can buy in 2021, including picks from testing and brands we trust:
Dials: Toaster ovens can have digital or mechanical controls. We recommend digital for more precise cooking control when it comes to setting the temperature and timer. If you don’t mind guessing, or keeping an additional timer close by, mechanical dials will save you money.
You Dont Need An Air Fryer You Already Own Something Better
Convection toaster ovens can do everything air fryers can doand more.
We found that pod-shaped air fryers often had more-powerful fans, but this wasnt necessarily a good thing, since they could produce dried-out foods and overcooked cakes. And the fryer baskets in pod-shaped models were too limited. Even filled to capacity, they could fit only a couple of servings of food at a time, which isnt practical for larger households. In general, we found that pod-shaped air fryers didnt cook as evenly as the toaster-oven models because their cramped interiors didnt allow heat to fully circulate around the food, even when we shook the basket periodically.

Best Indoor Grill Air Fryer: Ninja Foodi Xl Pro Grill And Griddle
Air frying might be a quick and easy way to make dinner, but many choose grilling as their preferred method because it’s so good at preserving natural umami flavors of ingredients while adding classic smoky elements from an open flame. With Ninja’s Foodi XL Pro Grill and Griddle, you can combine the best of both worlds. It comes with three baskets, one each for griddling, grilling, and frying, making it perfect for cooking burgers, making pancakes, grilling steaks and vegetables, and so much more. The tool heats up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, and promises to balance edge-to-edge cooking so you won’t be left with charred bits on one side of your steak and raw meat on the other. Its large 12-inch cooking surface fits as much as six burger patties or pancakes, and cleaning up is easy since all its accessories are dishwasher-safe.
