Its easy-to-use interface makes it great for recent air-fryer converts or parents who enjoy cooking with their pint-sized sous chefs.
Double The Air Fryer Baskets Did Not Mean Double The Cooking Space

Two of the air fryers we testedthe Instant Vortex Plus Dual ClearCook Airfryer and Ninja Foodi 2-Basket Air Fryerhad dual baskets that allowed you to set them independently or sync them to run at the same time and temperature. Their baskets measured 6.15 and 6.65 inches wide compared to the Instant Vortexs 10.14 inches. While these models could cook 1/2-pound of fries in each basket fine, as soon as we bumped it up to 1-pound the spuds emerged raw after 20 minutes. So, double the basket did not mean double the cooking spacethey really could only effectively handle half of what the standard air fryers could.
If you want an air fryer that works well with any quantity of food, we dont see the value in buying a dual-basket air fryer. However, if youre someone who cooks for two and wants to make the majority of your meals in the air fryer and cook a protein and vegetable at two different temperatures at once, they will workas long as you mind their capacity limitations. And, in that case, while its not an official winner we recommend the Instant Vortex Plus Dual ClearCook Airfryer.

The Interface Is Very User
Remember the first time you used an Instant Pot? Yeah, this sort of like that, but turned down a notch or two. The Instant Vortex has four pre-programmed settings to air fry, bake, roast and reheat similar to the Instant Pot’s seven settings. The caveat here is the Vortex only has eight buttons, four of which are those programs, plus Start, Cancel, Time and Temp. The dial in the center of the screen easily allows you to adjust the temperature in 5-degree intervals and the text is large and easy to read. Even if you’re someone who hates reading manuals, we have a feeling you’ll be able to figure this one out.
How To Use Instant Vortex Air Fryer
In this part, well walk you through how to operate an air fryer step by step. Before using the Instant Vortex Air Fryer for the first time, a few things must be addressed beforehand. First off, and most importantly, make sure nothing is placed on top of your appliance as it will block airflow and prevent food from being cooked properly! When using an air fryer, the cook needs to be mindful that what theyre cooking is different from deep frying. For instance, foods with a high fat content should not be cooked in this type of cooker because excess oil will drip out into your kitchen and make it messy.
When removing the basket from your Instant Vortex air fryer, the first thing you should do is be careful of how hot it will get. The steam that comes out can burn, so make sure to put something underneath before grabbing with both hands on either side and pull upward slowly, mindful not to spill any food onto yourself or into a sink below.

Bought this based on the Americas test kitchen review for best value. The draw is a good size and cooks everything well. Chicken, sausages are cooked to perfection and so quickly. User friendly and easy to navigate, auto off and time reminders for oven ready to use/food turning is handy. Cleaning is super easy and am using this kitchen appliance much more than I thought we would. Super easy for kids to reheat left overs and the easy oven foods. The black finish is sleek, and the matte model resists fingerprints so its easy to keep looking new.
There are both digital and analog versions of this air fryer. We tested the digital version both at home and in the Lab, and all the testers found the touch controls simple and intuitive to use. The temperature can be set from 200-400 degrees Fahrenheit and the timer up to 60 minutes, which is plenty of cooking range for most air-fried recipes. Our Lab testers found that this produced amazing French fries and crispy chicken tenders. The taste and texture outmatched several pricier models. Cleaning is also easier than others. The basket and several other parts can be put in the dishwasher, though the metal racks have to be carefully hand-washed.

It is simple – Some may argue that as a con, but truthfully, most of us just want something that is easy to use. It is easy to read and change increments on the touch screen. If you want more bells and whistles you can go for the vortex plus.
The basket is roomy – the basket is a nice size. With the crisper plate in the bottom it allows for extra room on the sides. You don’t see this with units that have a double basket.
Clean up is a breeze – Seriously, this non-stick basket is everything. While not dishwasher friendly, I didn’t have any trouble cleaning the crisper plate or air fryer basket with soapy water!
It has reminders – I appreciate the beeps that remind me to flip my food or to shake the basket. Goodness knows, I get busy in the kitchen and need a couple of reminders!
It has auto preheat – This is new for me. Typically, I am not a preheat fan, but this is converting me. Yes, I do need to lessen the cook time for most recipes when using preheat, but I am liking the results. The auto preheat, forced me to try the preheat function on foods I’ve never used it before. I think I am a preheat convert!?
Degree increments – I like that the instant vortex air fryer gives a wide range of degree options. Many air fryers skip degree settings by 10, which can make following some recipes hard. This air fryer changes degrees up/down by 5’s.

Cleanup Process: Only Takes A Few Minutes
The Vortex proved extremely simple to clean. No matter the cooking mode, we found most of the juices and greases collected nicely on the drip pan without making a major mess in the cooking chamber. Instant Brands suggests lining your drip pan and cooking sheets with tinfoil to make cleanup easier, but they were so simple to cleanjust a quick wipedown with a sponge or scrub brushthat we found it necessary.
If you dont have time to wash the accessories by hand, theyre also all dishwasher-safe, so you can pop them in without worry. Additionally, you can slide the door off of the Vortex , so you can wipe it down if anything really makes a mess.

The best part about the rotisserie basket was that it continuously rotated the fries on its own, so we didnt have to manually flip them halfway through the cooking process.
