The pandemic has changed us in ways that we could never have imagined. As a working mother of 3, the lockdown seemed to be a nice breather when it started.
But as the days turned to weeks, and the weeks turned to months, it became harder to deal with the kids and their constant cravings. Mom, can I get something to eat? was the constant refrain.
All the while, physical activity became zero, and all they did was eat fries and junk food while playing video games.
Then, one weekend while surfing the net, I came across an ad for Emeril Lagasse 360 Air Fryer. Now, I dont usually click on online ads, but I had heard the name Emeril Lagasse somewhere, and as a mother, I thought, lets at least give it a try. I loved that I could make fried stuff without having to deep fry.
I ordered it the next day, and within a week, I could see the difference. Today, after a few months of regular usage, I can tell you that this air fryer is well worth every penny.

Performance: Powerful But Noisy
This was my first time using an air fryer and I was excited to test it with two classic fried recipes: French fries and buffalo chicken wings. I selected the air fryer function and filled the crisper tray with a single serving of frozen steak fries. I went with the preset air fryer time and temperature: 400 degrees for 18 minutes.
I was pleased to see the fries turned out better than they do in my standard oven. They were crisp and golden on the outside and tender on the inside.
It actually took two tries to correctly preheat for the fries. I was anticipating a beep to alert me when the air fryer was finished preheating and it was time to put the food in. Instead, the air fryer automatically starts the timer as soon as the oven is heated, which means you need to put your food in the air fryer while it preheats, otherwise youll miss the start time.
Once I got cooking, I was disappointed to find the air fryer convection fan gives off a loud, whirring noise. Its completely silent in cooking modes that dont use the convection fan, but air fry mode was so noisy that I could hear it from other rooms and even from other floors of my house. This was a definite negative against the air fryer for me.

Initial Test For Your Emeril Lagasse Air Fryer 360
If this is your first time using an Emeril Air Fryer, you should know that the air fryer will arrive half-charged, allowing you to test it without waiting for a complete charge.
To finish the initial setup and start cooking:
- Insert two skewers into the slots in the fryer basket stand to improve airflow.
- Remove the cap from the oil cup and fill the fryer bowl to the maximum fill line. Replace the cap securely to prevent leaks while cooking. Set aside once oiled.
- Plug in your Power Air Fryer 360 to a conventional wall socket or surge protector and turn it on.
- Wait until the Power Air Fryer 360s power button turns solid blue and starts flashing before adding food.

Cleaning: Interior Is Tricky To Keep Clean
The stainless steel exterior easily smudges with fingerprints and requires a wipe down after each use to keep it looking shiny. The cooking trays and drip pan are removable and its recommended you clean them by hand.
Because the unit takes 15-20 minutes to cool down, food residue on the inside started to dry and took some effort to remove by the time it was cool enough to clean. Lining the drip tray with foil could help make cleanup easier, but it wont help with the interior walls or door.
The air fryer got really dirty with burnt-on drippings and grease splatter from cooking the chicken wings.
