Downsides: The Dash Tasti

The Dash Tasti-Crisp needs to sit on a heat-resistant surface for safety the bottom of the device really does get quite hot while in use. The front of the appliance also gets very hot while frying this isnt an issue per se as the handle and dials do not heat up, but should be taken into consideration if you have a small kitchen where you could potentially bump the front of the fryer.

Its hard to say if its reakky designed for long-term daily use. The main issue is that its small and not designed to cook large quantities of fried foods. It uses little oil and cooks healthier fried food, a real plus for the health-conscious.

Overall, for a small air fryer, the Dash Tasti crisp air fryer works very well and is a good buy. It serves two to four people when making snacks, side dishes, small meals, and appetizers.

Add a little oil if needed before adding the food. It does not need oil but add it if you want to cook the food to cook crispy. Push the drawer in and set the timer and temperature and wait for the chime to signal the food is cooked. When the food is ready, pull out the drawer by the handle only and put it on a safe surface. Put the food in a bowl or on a plate using the handle. Let the drawer and cool before cleaning. The recipe book has delicious recipes to try.

Instructions For Using Dash Tasti Air Crisp Fryer

• Place the air fryer on a heat-resistant, flat, and sturdy surface. Plug the Air Fryer into a wall outlet.
• Make sure the Crisper Tray is inserted in the Crisper Drawer after it has been removed from the Air Fryer. Place food in the Crisper Drawer on the Crisper Tray.
• Slide the Crisper Drawer back inside the Air Fryer once you add the food.
• Set the desired temperature with the Temperature Dial. Check the Temperature and Time Chart for guidance.
• Set the Timer Dial to your desired time. The timer dial will start counting down as soon as the Dash Tasti Air Fryer starts air frying.
• In some cooking processes, shaking is required to do this simply, remove the crisper drawer from the appliance and shake it gently side to side.
• After the Dash Tasti Air Fryer has finished cooking, a chime sound will indicate that the food is ready and cooked.
• Crisper Drawer and Crisper Tray will be hot when you remove the Crisper Drawer from the appliance. So touch them only with the Crisper Drawer Handle. If the food isnt ready, slide the Crisper Drawer back into the oven and adjust the Timer Dial.
• Put the contents of the crisper drawer into a bowl or onto a plate. If your items are large or greasy, you can lift them with tongs and discard them. Crisper drawers will collect any excess oil from foods at the bottom. Remove excess oil from the bottom after the appliance has cooled down.

The recipe was bad, I used it to warm up some food and the top was still frozen, so I am not sure if I want to try another one.

As I stated earlier, I have owned an older model of a Dash Air Fryer for years before reviewing the current Dash Digital Tasti-Crisp 2.6qt Air Fryer. The DASH Compact Electric Air Fryer , which is no longer available, has a capacity of up to two quarts. This model is also digital, with presets depending on what you want to cook, such, poultry, meat, bake, French fries and frozen fries. Even though the older model had a smaller air frying capacity, the amount of space it took up on the counter compared to the Dash Digital Tasti-Crisp 2.6qt Air Fryer was very similar. The older DASH Compact Electric Air Fryer also does not have a handle like the Dash Digital Tasti-Crisp 2.6qt Air Fryer, which has led to a few injuries while attempting to open the Crisper Drawer. Overall I prefer the newer model.

Another similar model by Dash is the Tasti-Crisp Air Fryer 2.6Qt which is identical to the reviewed Dash Digital Tasti-Crisp 2.6qt Air Fryer in every way except that it requires adjusting dials as opposed to using a digital screen. There are no preset options but it retails at $59.99, a lower price compared to this model.

Some reviewers have complained that the Dash Tasti-Crisp is too small to cook for more than one person, but my partner and I found it was the right size for us.

The 2.6-quart capacity crisper drawer can easily hold an entire bag of frozen fries or up to a dozen chicken wings. I also found it could hold more than enough vegetable chips and artichoke hearts to satiate a group of five friends whom I had over for cocktails and bites.

The Compact Machine Doesnt Seem To Crisp As Easily As Larger Appliances

The crisper basket was specifically designed to help achieve crispier results without taking up too much counter space, and while the appliance does offer quite crispy results, its noticeably less crispy than larger or more expensive options on the market. I tend to prefer a slightly less crispy French fry and vegetable chip but those who prefer a distinct or audible crunch might be disappointed.
