How The Ninja Foodi Digital Air Fry Oven Looks And Feels
The Ninja Foodi oven is narrow and can be flipped up on its side for storage.
As soon as you take it out of the box, you get a sense that the Foodi Digital Air Fry Oven is a high-quality product. Constructed of brushed stainless steel, its beautifully finished with rounded corners and has a digital control pad. Its also wider and shorter than a typical toaster oven.
When cooled and not in use, the Foodi oven can be flipped up on one side to stand up at the back of the counter, an odd but convenient storage solution. Rather than a towel bar handle in the front, it has a small one off to the side that you use to open the door. While its unusual and takes a bit of time to get used to, this handle functions perfectly fine and helps make the oven more space efficient.
The Foodi Digital Air Fry Oven comes with an air fry basket, a cooking rack, a nonstick sheet pan, and a crumb tray that also seem sturdy and well made. Theyre larger than the ones you typically find in a toaster oven, as the oven is so wide.

Is The Ninja Dz201 Easy To Use
Ill be honest, the Ninja Double Air Fryer can be intimidating at first with its multitude of buttons and the dual basket setup. Luckily, after a few runs, youll get the hang of it.
If you watched the video above, its just like a mini version of a full-sized oven. The only challenging part is setting the right amount of time and temperature for each recipe. You wont be able to memorize it, but the good thing is youll have a quick start guide courtesy of Shark Ninja.
On top of that, theres also an included recipe book to get you started right away.
In comparison to the Ninja Foodi Air Fryer Max XL, this model doesnt automatically pause when removing the air fryer basket. To ensure youre following the cooking time religiously, youll have to pause and start it manually whenever youre shaking or flipping your ingredients.
On a slightly different note:
The cleanup is easy-peasy.
First of all, its dishwasher safe, so you can simply load the basket and crisper plate into the dishwasher.
If not, then you can always hand wash itwhich is also straightforward.
It has a non-stick coating, so most food residue will come off quickly.By the way, only use a soft sponge and non-abrasive cleaners to prevent damaging the coating.
Last but not least, use a damp cloth to wipe the main unit.

Something A Bit Healthier
Now, I wasnt exactly pumped about cooking a healthy meal in the Digital Oven. But hey, what the heck? The Foodi includes a recipe guide and other instruction manuals. In the guide, it talks about making sheet pan meals. To make a sheet pan meal, you pick a protein, a veggie and/or starch, season, toss the ingredients around, and cook.
I tried creating a chicken and broccoli sheet pan meal. I cut chicken breast into cubes, placed frozen broccoli florets on the pan, seasoned with garlic and lemon, and cooked the creation at 400 degrees on air roast for 20 minutes. It came out tasty, but my only complaint is that the sheet pan only holds enough food for three people, or perhaps four people who eat very small meals. I have a family of four .
Should An Air Fryer Pressure Cooker Combo
After finishing my Ninja Foodi review, my vote is yes–if you have the room. It is much larger than any of the other pressure cookers out there.
I also vote yes if you make recipes or would like to make recipes that involve first pressure cooking, and then air frying or if you want to brown the tops of desserts or my Gyro Recipe.
I’m very pleased with this purchase and think it will save me a lot of time for those recipes that use both functions. It’s also very roomy.
I was able to cook half a chicken with rice and eggplant with MORE than enough room so this would even be usable by large families.

Anyone who’s read my reviews of the best stand mixers will know that I’m an avid baker, so I was keen to try the Ninja Foodi 8-in-1 Flip Mini Oven out to bake.
The Ninja Foodi 8-in-1 Flip Mini Oven doesn’t come with a muffin tray, but you can buy a 12-cup muffin pan on the Ninja site if you love to cook cupcakes.
I used the baking sheet, which is 13×13 inches, to place my cupcake cases in the oven. I was concerned that they would touch the top of the oven when they rose, but I had no issues. I would definitely refrain from cooking bread or a full-sized cake in the Ninja Foodi 8-in-1 Flip Mini Oven, but that’s down to the smaller internal capacity as opposed to any issues in its ability to cook.

A Bunch Of Cool Features
Besides all the modes that we already talked about, the Ninja Oven unit still has some more cool features to offer.
The first one is the Air Broiling mode. With this feature active, chicken breasts will come out juicy and perfectly browned on both sides in just 20 minutes. Unfortunately the same doesnât happen to steaks, they normally end up looking gray on the outside. However, you can still use this mode to perfectly melt cheese over a pizza or in an onion soup.
Another nice feature is the dehydration mode, that works perfectly fine if you want to dehydrate small amounts of foods. You should keep in mind that if want to dehydrate large batches of food, you are better off with a real dehydrator. This mode is like an added bonus that lets you give you firsts steps in dehydrating food.
Last but not least, you have the keep warm mode that can keep your food warm up to 2 hours at safe serving temperature. However, if you let the food for 2 hours in the oven it will dry out. If youâre not going to serve food within a half-hour or so, you are probably better off just reheating it in the microwave.
Easy And Practical To Use
Despite its many modes the Ninja Foodi Digital Air Fry Oven it is actually very simple to use. The digital control panel is very easy to read, and thanks to the selection knob, you can easily select time, temperature and mode. Besides this, the unit preheats automatically and the preheat time is just one minute, so it doesnât affect the cooking time.
Cleaning this unit is also easy to do and doesnât require much effort. The sheet pan and the air fry basket can be cleaned in the dishwasher and, thanks to the back panel you can easily access the inside of the oven for better cleaning.
The Ninja Foodi Oven comes with a very thorough and easy-to-understand ownerâs guide, as well as a booklet that contains recipes and cooking charts for air frying and dehydrating and a leaflet with instructions on how to build a sheet pan meal.

Were big fans of the Ninja Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer thanks to its smart functionality that lets you prepare two different foodstuffs and have them cooked at ready at the same time. Mealtimes can often be something of a juggling act, so this device is perfect for taking the stress out of the situation. If youre new to the air fryer concept then the Ninja Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer might look a little daunting, but spend five minutes picking through the manual and it doesnt take long to get up to speed. Performance soon turns out to be especially impressive too, with all of the programmable modes proving to be excellent in each of their respective categories. A slight downside is you cant fit in larger items, such as a whole chicken for roasting. A quail maybe, but not much more. Individual chicken pieces, however, such as legs and thighs work just fine.
While you can cook using either of the individual non-stick compartments on its own the real practical edge of the Ninja Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer is its dualzone technology and Sync mode. We took full advantage of Ninjas supplied quick start guide, that delivers full colour instructions and several mouth-watering meal examples both meat-based and vegetarian that you can try in order to familiarise yourself with the controls.
When youre done with the cooking, each of the two compartments comes with a non-stick crisper plate, both of which are dishwasher safe. The rest of the unit can be wiped over with a damp cloth. Its all pretty low-maintenance stuff really.
Cleaning: By Hand Or Machine
The baskets and their crisper trays were easy to clean by hand, and theyre also dishwasher-safe. While it was easy to find room in the dishwasher for the trays, the baskets are large and the handles got in the way. I washed the baskets in the dishwasher once, but I actually preferred washing them by hand.
