How To Use The Air Frying Mode
Place your food ingredients in the fry basket, then slide the basket into oven and position it on top of the baking pan. It should be in the top rack position.
Then choose the air fry setting, set the desired temperature and time by turning the respective dials.
During air frying, only the top heating element and the fan are operating once the timer is set.
The top heating element will alternate between On and Off to maintain the desired cooking temperature.
If cooking large quantities of food, tossing halfway through the cooking cycle is recommended. This helps in even browning and cooking.

The author suggests using a meat probe or an instant-read thermometer to check the doneness of your protein.

The most obvious reason is lack of space: The pod-shaped models hog less room on a kitchen counter. Hamilton Beach Air Fryer Sure Crisp Toaster Oven Review: Ease Of Use And Cleaning
There are no electronic controls on this toaster oven. It has three small dials: one to select the cooking function, one to set the oven temperature, and the third to set the cooking time. While it is certainly uncomplicated to operate, the print on the dials is very small and we found it a struggle to read the settings. Plus, as the dial for setting the time is simply a mechanical timer, its hard to set precisely. An oven rack, air frying basket, aluminum baking pan, and slide out crumb tray are included with the oven. There is no light in the oven to let you see how your food is progressing.
When the oven is operating, the glass door becomes excessively hot, reaching temperatures as high as 339.2°F. The Hamilton Beach is the only toaster oven we tested with a door handle that becomes very hot to the touch at a temperature of 146.8 °F. The oven is extremely quiet as it operates with a dBA reading of 50.4 we virtually couldnt hear it when it was running.
None of the parts are coated with a nonstick finish and hand washing is recommended. The aluminum baking pan became quite stained and we werent able to get it completely clean.
The instructions that come with this product are contained in a leaflet. While it thoroughly explains usage, it doesnt include cooking charts, recipes, or tips.

Does Convection Work The Same For Every Recipe
That would be awesome.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that will affect your recipe, from your toaster ovens heating to your ingredients.
The Lower Temperature 25° and Cook for 1/4 Less Time is a good starting place. But youll still need to do some tasty experimenting to discover what works for your little oven.
Take this roasted cauliflower, our original recipe was created using a conventional toaster oven and takes between 25 to 35 minutes to cook.
Roasting it with the convection on and the temperature reduced from 450 to 425 it took about 25 minutes to become browned and fork tender.
In our toaster oven, it seems like vegetables dont cook much faster with convection. But they do get crispier and taste fantastic, especially these easy sriracha roasted red potatoes.
Until you get comfortable with how your toaster oven cooks, reduce the temperature for every recipe.
You can always cook something longer but once the damage is done you cant cook it less!

Flaws But Not Dealbreakers
Due to the Cuisinart TOB-260N1s large interior, this model took about five minutes longer to cook frozen french fries than some of the smaller air fryers we tested took. That said, its slightly slower cooking time often produced more evenly cooked food that was better tasting. We think thats a trade-off well worth the few extra minutes of your time. And the Cuisinart is still small enough that it can preheat and cook faster than a standard oven.
Since Cuisinart doesnt market the TOB-260N1 as an air fryer, it doesnt come with a cooking chart for commonly air-fried foods. However, we found that in most cases, the same temperatures youd use to cook in a standard oven can also be used in the Cuisinart, whereas smaller, pod-shaped air fryers require you to cook at lower temperatures. We also found that when youre air frying vegetables with lots of moisture, such as eggplant and zucchini, its best to chop them into 1-inch or smaller pieces to prevent them from getting mushy. The Cuisinarts baking pan may warp slightly when the oven is roasting at high temperatures, but this in no way affects its cooking performance the pan will return to its normal shape when it cools. If you want a better pan, we recommend that you get a Nordic Ware quarter-sheet pan, a smaller version of our favorite baking sheet, which fits perfectly inside the Cuisinart oven.
