This extra large Nuwave Air Fryer has a 6 quart interior cooking capacity and a digital control panel with adjustable temperature range and multi-hour timer. About 60% of owners think its great while a significant number of others complain that it quit working prematurely. Compared to other extra large air fryers, the Nuwave sells for a great price, but you may want to also purchase the extra protection plan that Amazon offers.

No, that 100 hour timer is not a typo, but total programmable time depends on the cooking temperature you choose:
- High Temp, 350 to 390°F maximum cooking time is 1 hour
- Low to Medium Temp, 100 to 345°F maximum cooking time is 99 hours and 59 minutes
Personally, Ive never cooked anything that took longer than 45 minutes in an air fryer, nor have I seen any recipes calling for more than an hour cooking time. I cant think why that 100 hour option is an advantage. For safety reasons, the idea of programming this Nuwave for multiple hours seems a bit on the absurd side. Foods that are naturally moist, such as eggs or potatoes, may stick to the pan during cooking. To avoid this problem always coat food with a small amount of oil before inserting it into the Air Fryer.
Never cover the air vent while cooking, this will reduce heat and slow down cooking time significantly.
Always cook foods at room temperature when using the NuWave Air Fryer. Cold meats and frozen items will increase your cooking time and result in longer cook times without browning or crisping properly because cold air does not circulate around them exposing all sides to dry hot air resulting in poor results and potentially overcooked edges.
If you want more than one type of food is being cooked in your air fryer, use separate baskets and/or pans for each type of food.
Foods that take up a lot of space such as raw potatoes or large pieces of meat may be cut into smaller pieces to help them cook more evenly.

Biggest Air Fryer Cons To Be Aware Of
I do really like air fryers a lot. But I want to tell you about some of the downsides of air fryers, especially when you want to buy a new air fryer.
Because, just like any other product, air fryers do have a couple of disadvantages. I experienced these myself during the use of my air fryers since 2015.
I have currently 12 air fryers, because I test and review them for my Dutch site. So I have quite some knowledge on the downsides of these air fryers.
How Would I Improve The Nuwave Brio Air Fryer
Overall the Nuwave 6 Quart Brio Digital Air Fryer is an amazing machine. It has clean, elegant lines, and an intuitive design. The controls are easy to use and, thanks to digital temperature control with individual degree increments, a precise digital timer, and wattage settings, it is incredibly easy to fine-tune your cooking process. There are a few small adjustments I would make, but nothing so dire as to impede the overall function of this machine.
- The assembly of the cooking chamber/food basket is a little loose and, at times, loading it into the machine can be a chore. The detachable basket allows the cooking chamber to hang down a bit, and when filled with food, it means that you have to align the cooking chamber and the machine just so, to allow the chamber to slide back into the machine. It was a struggle at times to get the basket loaded back into the machine efficiently when filled with food.
- Include brackets on the back of the machine to help maintain a proper distance from the wall and other cooking appliances. Though it may seem simple, it is very easy to find this machine pushed all the way to the wall or back of a countertop, which is not ideal for best operation and safety. Some models Ive seen include small brackets or a protrusion that keeps the machine properly spaced from other equipment or walls. Including these would be a nice touch to ensure proper operation, but it isnt hard to just pull it out a few inches every time you decide to use it.

How Does A Nuwave Oven Work
The NuWave Oven is an interesting appliance. It actually cooks in three different ways. It uses infrared, conduction, and convection. I wont turn this into a science lecture, but Ill briefly explain how each of these heat transfer methods cooks your food.
Conduction is the most basic of heat transfers. Simply put, a hot thing makes a cold or cool thing hot too. You preheat your oven to make the interior hot. Once heated, you place your food inside, and the heat transfers.
Convection is the method of cooking air fryers use. This involves hot air being circulated with a fan to surround the food and cook it. Convection is much like conduction but it adds the element of movement. In this case, the movement comes from air.
Infrared is the unique aspect of the NuWave. It actually involves energy waves that are absorbed by the food to heat it up. In an infrared oven, shields and reflectors help transfer these waves.
This triple threat makes a NuWave Oven cook faster and with up to 75% less energy than traditional cooking.
How Easy Is It To Set Up
The set-up was quick and easy.It was very light and easy to maneuver onto my countertop. It does need at least 2 of clearance between the back of the machine and any other equipment or walls it may be placed in proximity to. The basket comes with a piece of cardboard between the basket and the frying chamber that obviously needs to be removed, but other than that, the machine is ready to cook right out of the box.
Personally, I like to give all my cooking equipment a quick rinse with hot water before the first use, and here I ran into my only issue with setup. It took me a second to figure out how to release the frying basket from the removable cooking chamber. It is attached with a spring-loaded button release on the handle. Once I understood how to properly release the basket, it was a breeze, but it took me a minute of fiddling with the release to get it to engage the first time.
