The only complaints about this cookbook are that some recipes are not all that easy, and some are quite unusual . This isnt surprising since, after all, Emeril is a chef. Just keep in mind that if youre looking for a beginner cookbook, some of the recipes may not be what you expected.

There has been much confusion about one of Emeril Lagasses cookbooks. The title is Emerils Cooking with Power, and this is not an air fryer cookbook. As clearly stated in the books subtitle, these recipes were developed for cooking in a slow cooker, multi cooker, pressure cooker, and deep fryer. Thats it no air fryer recipes.

If youre familiar with air fryers you know that deep fryer recipes dont always work. For example, you cant use any kind of wet, drippy batter. To get that type of coating in an air fryer, you have to take a different approach, and recipes can be drastically different from what youd use for deep frying.

Would I Buy It

I did a full test on the Emeril Lagassepower air fryer using a lot of the functions it offered. I would say that itdid quite well considering the range that it offers.

I think there is a lot to be said forhaving a larger oven in your kitchen. It does give you that much moreflexibility.

Nothing went wrong in my tests, on thecontrary it cooked everything welljust like the adverts I saw on TV!

I was very impressed with the air fryer function as this is principally why it was tested. Following this test, I also tested the slow cook function and a number of other things, like chicken wings, all of them performing well.

A downside is the extra things that youhave to buy, it would have been nice for them to include a few moreaccessories. They arent to expensive to buy so it wasnt a deal breaker but I justthink it gives the buyer more value while not costing them much at all.

Overall, I recommend the Emeril Lagasse power air fryer as a buy but only if you think you will make the most of the functionality it offers. If you dont need all those functions, you can spend less on a simple air fryer oven.

Design: May Be Too Large For Some Kitchens

The Power Air Fryer 360 is sized like an extra-large toaster oven or small microwave. While it fit on my kitchen counter and beneath cabinets, it took up too much countertop real estate for my taste. Its too big to fit inside of a cabinet, but if you have to store it on the counter, at least it looks good with a sleek all stainless steel exterior and glass door.

Other design features I liked include the bright interior light, intuitive controls, easy-to-read LCD setting screen, and the guide markings on the door so you always know which rack height to use for different cooking functions.

Cleaning: Interior Is Tricky To Keep Clean

The stainless steel exterior easily smudges with fingerprints and requires a wipe down after each use to keep it looking shiny. The cooking trays and drip pan are removable and it’s recommended you clean them by hand.

Because the unit takes 15-20 minutes to cool down, food residue on the inside started to dry and took some effort to remove by the time it was cool enough to clean. Lining the drip tray with foil could help make cleanup easier, but it wont help with the interior walls or door.

The air fryer got really dirty with burnt-on drippings and grease splatter from cooking the chicken wings.

The Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer Oven, which The Spruce Eats also tested, is a 7-in-1 appliance, with settings for air frying, roasting, baking, broiling, reheating, dehydrating, and rotating for rotisserie. Although it appears to have fewer settings, Emerils model just has more preset functions. The roast and bake functions can still be used for pizza, toast, bagels, and rotisserie.

It also has an attractive stainless steel exterior and will take up more space than a standard air fryer. It comes with two racks, a rotisserie spit, and a rotisserie basket that continually rotates and eliminates the need to shake potatoes for even cripsing during the cooking process. Priced around $120, you can save a significant chunk of change compared to the Power Air Fryer 360and it was much quieter in tests.

Its versatile, but not a top pick for air frying.

Although the Emeril Lagasse Power AirFryer 360 boasts multiple cooking functions, its not useful enough to justify the higher price, large size, and noise level unless youve got a limited kitchen or know youll use multiple featuresbecause it is a great all-in-one appliance.

According to the suit, the air fryers are designed and manufactured with five heating elements and a smart fan that Tristar touts as able to provide a whirlwind of super-heated air for even cooking. The case alleges, however, that the excessive heating elements and the fans failure to properly circulate the air inside the Power Airfryers allows them to reach temperatures of 537ðC , well above the 310 to 360ðC range considered to be the maximum for safe air fryer cooking.
