Air Frying: Honestly, it isnt the best air fryer, but its also not the worst either. Using the Ninja Foodi oven results in uneven air-frying and food prepared from scratch appears to be baked rather than fried. It claims to be capable of air-frying four pounds of food at once on the manufacturers website. Despite being able to pile that many fries into the air fry basket, the basket couldnt fit at the recommended air fry rack position in the oven.
Toasting: The toast is very evenly toasted, however, there is no setting for an extremely light toasting. Nine slices of packaged bread can fit inside the Ninja Foodi Digital Air Fry Oven without squishing them. Furthermore, it can toast them fairly evenly. Toasting two slices with it give exceptionally even results, browning exceptionally fast.
The light and medium settings, however, toast to a golden-brown shade, so it might disappoint those who prefer only lightly browned toast. Using its bagel toasting settings, it toasts bagel halves evenly.
Baking: With this Ninja, you cannot bake an entire loaf or Bundts, but you could bake a cake or muffins in a shallow pan, or bake small things like cookies directly on the sheet pan. It bakes the biscuits just as well as if they are baked in a full oven.

The Cuisinart Digital Air Fryer Toaster Oven: This hybrid convection oven and air fryer wasn’t terrible and it certainly had one of, if not the most powerful, air fry functions. That proved to be a blessing and curse since some of the food I cooked burned on the edges and cooked unevenly — I think due in part to the high-octane super convection fan. This air fryer oven also had my least favorite interface, and I found myself mashing my fingers on the dials and buttons in frustration at times just hoping I’d get to the right setting since it never seemed to do what I wanted with ease. It’s also not cheap and thus not an oven I’d recommend.
Calphalon Precision Air Fry Oven: The Calphalon scored high marks in the toast test with an even browning, but that’s about where the accolades ended. This oven was slow to preheat, had trouble holding a consistent temperature and the air fry function was among the weakest. It also has no internal light, which most of them do. I admittedly do like the look of it and the interface is elegant and simple to use. This oven can also be had for about $150, so it is among the more budget-friendly options.

Kitchenaid Digital Countertop Oven With Air Fry
While the KitchenAid didn’t run away with many of the test categories, it didn’t struggle mightily in any of them either. It sports a serviceable air fry function — though certainly not the best — excellent temperature consistency and a very sleek and intuitive control panel . It makes the list because I found it to be a reliable oven that’s also an ideal size for most kitchens. It’s a bit of a hybrid between the Ninja and the Breville in that it’s compact — just 17 inches across versus the Breville at more than 21 — but also has a more traditional cooking capacity so you could get some taller items in there, whereas the Ninja is limited in that department. It also looks great which always counts for something, and it’s a smidge cheaper than the Ninja at $190.
Fries Wings And Leftover Pizza
The first thing I cooked in the Foodi oven was a batch of frozen French fries. I preheated the oven, and the appliance was ready to use before I could even finish placing the frozen fries on the tray. I coated the fries in a tiny bit of olive oil spray, and after about 20 minutes, I had crunchy French fries. They were better than baked french fries, but not quite as good as deep fried . You can also try the same thing with homemade potato chips.
I took things a step further , and I decided to add cheese and bacon to my crispy pile of French fries. I placed the cheese and bacon-covered fries back in the Foodi oven, pressed air roast, and after 3 minutes I had a delicious-looking plate of bacon and cheese fries.
A few days later, I had leftovers from the pizza and wings that I ordered the day before and decided to reheat my leftovers in the Foodi oven. Now, this was gluten-free pizza , which usually reheats terribly. If I place it in the microwave, I get a soggy triangular-shaped mess that barely resembles pizza.
However, when I reheated the pizza in the Foodi Oven using the toast function, it came out amazing. The cheese was gooey, and the crust was crispy. I reheated the wings using the air fry function, and they also came out surprisingly good. Its not delivery, its reheated in the Foodi, I thought to myself.
