I expect to see a good Walmart Black Friday Instant Pot deal because they almost always have one. It would not surprise me to see some Instant Pot models and Instant air fryers, especially maybe the Vortex or Vortex Plus, as a major Walmart doorbuster on Black Friday. However, Walmart is also notorious for not announcing those deals until the last minute, such as the Wednesday night before! It also kept an accurate and consistent heat throughout cooking and has an impressive air fryer function. This Smart Oven is also quite large, for better or worse, but that bulbous cooking capacity makes it a more versatile machine than the Ninja. You could easily cook a roast or whole chicken in the Breville, while the Ninja is simply not tall enough. It also has a boatload of features and presets bread proofing, dehydrate, pizza and so if you like bells and whistles, the Brevilles got em. Itll even switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius with the push of the button for folks who use that system. Ya know, everyone but us.
At $319, its by far the most expensive oven I tested, but the quality build and performance were commensurate. It is the one model on this that could pretty close to replacing your big oven altogether in case thats the goal or if you need something for a space without an existing oven.

I love the Instant Pot brand, so I recommend their pressure cookers and air fryers, but there are some other good products out there. In particular, I like the Ninja Foodi line of products. I personally own the Instant Pot Duo Crisp, but the Ninja Foodi and the Duo Crisp are so similar that you can make the same recipes in them, so if there are good Ninja Foodi Black Friday Deals out there I want to share them!

What About The Vortex Plus

Instant Pot Vs Air Fryer: Design And Functionality
Now the important part the difference in design and functionality. Instant Pots are designed to offer several functions in one appliance, usually including pressure cook, soup, sauté, slow cook, steam, rice, porridge, yogurt, poultry and more. This makes them incredibly versatile machines which can cook all sorts of recipes with varying methods. This versatility in design is one of the reasons for Instant Pots popularity while its bulky, it arguably replaces several appliances.
Certain Instant Pot models can even be used as air fryers, so long as youve got the right attachments. The Instant Pot Duo Crisp and Pro Crisp range come with a dedicated air fryer lid which gives you access to this functionality, as well as options such as roast, bake, broil and dehydrate. There is one model which offers everything under one lid the Instant Pot Duo Crisp with Ultimate Lid , although it comes at a steep price of $229.
An Instant Pot is predominantly a pressure cooker though. That means when you select one of the standard settings, it will start by heating internally, slowly building up pressure. It will then maintain this for the programmed time, before slowly releasing the pressure at the end of the cycle.
Ninja Foodi 2 Basket Air Fryer Review: Cooking Performance
On our tests, we were most impressed by the Ninjas performance on Brussels sprouts, chicken wings and breaded chicken.
It only really struggled to air fry French fries from scratch, which were adequate, but didnt compare to some other models in terms of browning, crisping or moistness. It scored well for hamburgers as well, although some smoke was produced.
Its not necessary to preheat the Ninja before air frying. In spite of this, we didnt get long cooking times, so not having to preheat was a big convenience. You have the option of placing the same amount and type of food in each of the baskets and cooking them at the same time or varying the contents of each one and programming each for a different cooking temperature and time. The fryer can calculate when to start cooking so that both baskets are ready at the same time using its Smart Cook setting. Its also possible to cook in only one basket or cook the same food in two different baskets to different degrees of doneness.

Instant Pot Vs Air Fryer: Price
In terms of price, Instant Pots tend to cost from $80 up to $200 depending on the size and features. Air fryers on the other hand start from as little as $30 and can range up to $300. The price is much more diverse for air fryers as there are such a huge range of brands in this market. Even Instant offers its own air fryer design, called the Instant Vortex .
Generally speaking, air fryers are a little cheaper vs Instant Pots, but this largely depends on the model and brand you choose.
Instant Pot Vs Air Fryer: Appearance
As mentioned earlier, these two appliances appear quite similar at first if youve not had previous experience with them. Both are boxy kitchen appliances which can have a large surface footprint depending on the model. Each will also advertise the ability to produce quick and delicious recipes which can save you effort in the kitchen. But, if you take a closer look, you will find that there are key differences which can help you tell these appliances apart.
Instant Pot is actually from the brand Instant, although its had such success over the years that many now view these machines as a product category in itself. As the name suggests, an Instant Pot will feature a large removable cooking pot with a lockable lid on top. A control panel is located on the front, showing several functions and settings to choose from. Once you switch it on and start cooking, a large timer will appear on the display to countdown what remains.
These machines mostly come with a 6-quart capacity, although there are larger 8-quart options and even a mini 3-quart model. The majority of the models are quite sizable considering this about the size of a basketball so they take a significant amount of storage or display space. Accessories tend to include a steam rack.
