The Instant Pot Vortex manual states that the oven can handle up to a 4 pound chicken. While a larger whole chicken might fit, I do not recommend trying it. There have been reports in various , of the rotisserie rod getting bent with larger chickens, chickens getting stuck and not rotating properly, and the spit coming out of the holder, causing damage. So stick to 4 lbs and under! Indeed, my first chicken was slightly over and it hit the bottom when rotating, causing it to not rotate as well.

Make sure your rotisserie spit is properly seated. Use the red lever to release it when inserting and then make sure it is properly seated when moving the lever back.

The rotisserie is fun and does give nice browning all around, but it also has a certain annoyance factor. You may need to remove the wings from your bird, tie your chicken well, and wrestle a bit with getting the fork prongs onto the spit. Then you might wrestle with it a bit again when removing your chicken from the spit.

Like a broil and toast, its pretty much the same thing And its just a question of different levels of heat.
