Convenience And Versatility :

We decided early on that we really wanted an air fryer/toaster oven combo, although while searching on Amazon we did consider the Oster Dura Ceramic Air Fryer in the beginning. The popular Cuisinart Toaster Oven Air Fryer was our first choice but at $199 it was a bit expensive, so we were really happy to find a more affordable alternative even if it doesn’t have as many bells and whistles. There are only two adults in our house at this point and we usually only eat together on the weekends, so we already love the convenience of having an appliance that cooks single servings but that can also perform five multiple functions. Think eggplant parm heroes, which are one of our absolute favorites. The oven can toast the bread, air fry the eggplant, bake the eggplant, marinara sauce, and mozzarella for a few minutes, then broil the cheese to an oozy deliciousness. All while keeping cleanup to a minimum. Yes, please.

Design: Shiny And Compact

This is a compact little oven that wont take too much counter space, while it also looks nice enough to leave out on the counter to make toast every morning. The silver exterior looks classy and sleek and the large front window offers a good look at whats cooking.

Inside, theres just one rack that fits in just one place in the oven. For toasting, baking, and air frying, a small baking pan and an air fryer basket are included. One clever feature we liked was that the rack had rails underneath that could hold the baking pan so it could be used as a drip tray when using the air fryer basket or when cooking food directly on the rack.

This oven has only two heating elements, one on top and one on the bottom. Theyre covered with perforated metal pieces that protect them from splatter, reducing the chance of burning and smoking. Those shields may also help spread the heat a bit. A convection fan in the rear means this little oven can also be used as an air fryer and the convection heat provides more even cooking.

Light in weight, this is easy to move in and out of storage. However, that lightweight construction means its not heavily insulated, so it gets hot on the outside during cooking. Fortunately, we found that the large front handle always stayed cool enough to hold, no matter what we cooked.

We’ve never used an air fryer before but the Crisp and Bake toaster oven offered a good combination of functions and convenience, while still being compact enough for our fairly small space, and it was reasonably priced.

Where To Buy The Black And Decker Air Fryer Toaster Oven:

The Black and Decker website has it listed for $59.99, but that price might not include tax or shipping. It recently became available and both Macy’s, and Kohl’s carry the oven. We don’t have a Macy’s nearby but we do have a Kohl’s, which is where we bought the air fryer oven. It was listed at $99, was on sale for $89, and Kohl’s had a 20% off coupon bringing the price down to $74 including tax. Plus, we got $10 in Kohl’s cash.

*** Price update: A lot can happen in two weeks. The price at Kohl’s has dropped from $99 to $79, and the price at B& D has jumped from $59 to $79, and even though they’ve raised the price it’s showing as sold out. *** Cooking guide update: A couple of weeks ago Black and Decker released a cooking guide and air fryer chart for the air fryer. It’s not on the website yet so you’ll need to contact them at the Black and Decker website and they’ll send it via email. The cooking guide is only two pages – one page has an air frying chart for the more popular foods, and the other page has three basic recipes kale chips, fries, and Buffalo turkey burgers, – but it’s a start, and hopefully they’ll add more information in the future.

Where To Buy The Black And Decker Air Fryer Toaster Oven

It is offered at $59.99 on the Black & Decker website, however tax and shipping may not be included in that amount. The oven was just made available on Amazon, and it is sold at Macys and Kohls. Although a Macys is not close by, we do have a Kohls, where we purchased the air fryer oven. It was priced at $99, discounted to $89, and Kohls offered a 20% off coupon, making the final price, with tax, only $74 for the item. We also received $10 in Kohls cash.

Price revision: In just two weeks, a lot may occur. Even though Kohls and B& D have raised their prices, the items are still appearing as sold out, despite Kohls pricing dropping from $99 to $79 and B& Ds price rising from $59 to $79, respectively. Update on the cooking guide: Black and Decker has published an air fryer chart and a cooking guide. Youll need to email them through the Black & Decker website as it isnt currently available there. The cooking guide just includes two pages, but its a start, and perhaps theyll add more content in the future. One page has an air frying chart for the main popular meals, and the other page contains three basic recipes: kale chips, fries, and Buffalo turkey burgers.

Black And Decker Air Fryer Instructions:

You can download a pdf of the instructions from the B& D website before buying but the instructions are basic and only cover setup, using the control knobs, and safety info. There’s no information on cooking, recipes, or air frying times, so plan on some trial and error when it comes to cooking if, like us, you’ve never used an air fryer before. Cuisinart offers a basic air frying chart, but their air fryer is 1800 watts and the B& D air fryer is 1500 watts so it’s probably not the same. It would’ve been nice if Black and Decker included some info on air frying times for the popular air frying foods like fries, wings, and chicken tenders.

Crisp N Bake Dimensions:

The height of the oven itself is 11.2 according to the specifications on the B& D website, but if you add the handle, the height is 12. As a result, the overall measurements are 18 long, 12 tall, and 14.1 deep. The inside is 12 across and 11.5 deep. The instructions advise keeping food 1.5 away from the heating element while the wire rack is at its lowest position, leaving 5 of space between the rack and the upper heating components. Black & Decker claims that the toaster oven weights 16 pounds. We will accept their word for it because it wouldnt fit on our scale. Black and Decker has been making toaster ovens for a long time and they have many models on the market, but only two have air fryer functionality. They’re called the Black and Decker Crisp ‘N Bake Air Fry Convection Countertop Ovens, and the model number for the one in this review is TO3215SS. The B& D air fryer oven also comes in a wide version which is model number TO3265XSSD, and the wide model measures 21.5 inches long instead of 18 inches long. *Note – the model numbers use capital “Os” , not zeroes. If you use zeroes instead of Os, you’ll probably get a Black and Decker weedwhacker instead of an air fryer toaster oven.

The Black+Decker Extra Wide Crisp N’ Bake is one of the best low-cost toaster ovens we’ve tested, offering all most people want and need from a countertop oven for a below-average price. Just don’t expect any gourmet miracles from this wallet-friendly machine. Though not a top-performing model, the Extra Wide Crisp N’ Bake offers good all-around performance for a relatively low price, making it a great option for those shopping on a budget.

Leftovers taste better than when reheated than they do in a microwave. One reviewer moved into a house without a microwave and after using this toaster oven decided not to get one.
